Jain Stotra Sangraha Part 02

This document is the second part of the "Jain Stotra Sangraha," compiled by Yashovijay Jain Pathshala. It is a collection of various Jain hymns and devotional prayers dedicated to Tirthankaras and other revered figures in Jainism.

The collection includes:

• Jina Stuti (Praise of Jinas): Several hymns praising the Tirthankaras, some of which are in a special form where the names of food items are woven into the praise.
• Specific Tirthankara Praises:
  • Devotional hymns dedicated to Simandhar Swami.
  • Praises of Parshvanatha and Rishabhadeva.
  • A hymn to Sarvajna (the Omniscient) with commentary.
  • Praises of Parshva Jin and Gautama.
  • A hymn related to the counting of matter (Pudgal Sankhya).
• Collections of Hymns:
  • "Jina Stotra Ratnakosh" by Muni Sundar Suri, which contains hymns dedicated to all 24 Tirthankaras.
  • Hymns to Shankheshwar Parshvanatha.
• Special Praises:
  • An Ashtaka (eight-verse prayer) dedicated to Shantmurti Shri Vriddhichandra Maharaj, the guru of the text's editor, Muni Dharmavijay.
• Various other hymns praising different Tirthankaras like Mahavir, Neminath, Shantinath, and the Siddha Chakra.

The text highlights the importance of preserving and reviving ancient Jain literature, especially Sanskrit hymns, which were gradually falling into disuse. The compilers express their dedication to this cause and mention the effort involved in making these ancient texts accessible through printing. They also acknowledge the contributions of various scholars and monks who provided manuscripts and assistance in this endeavor.

The book also includes a corrigendum (Shuddhipatra) for errata found in the text. The overall tone is devotional and emphasizes the spiritual benefits of reciting these hymns.
